Duality is how the universe maintains balance.

(day and night - mass and void - good and evil)

Each needs the opposite to exist. And no pair is static or absolute. There is instead a dynamic continuum. As day gives way to night it is neither. During the cycle one pulls upon the other, never stopping as a self, always becoming the partner.

Gender is a duality, but also forms a continuum. It is an analog reference in a gestalt of many external and internal influences.

In this Mandala, the masculine pull of the sun and the feminine pull of the moon are counter balanced by the physical power of the lions.
