Cherub

An interpretation of the vision of Ezekiel

This is a picture of an early stage in the wax work.

The head is far along, but the wings with hundreds of hand carved feathers took a long time!

In all I spent about 120 hours on the designing of this sculpture.

The research work also went on for months before I attempted to create this figure. I had the help of many insiteful people to gain a deeper understanding of the vision Ezekiel described.

The project and research is still on going.

It will take four of these Cherubim to form the foundation of the great throne which is held aloft by their combined efforts. The seat of this throne is the firmament. I am still contemplating how to make clouds and sky out of bronze!
